Venues
Each venue on Swirl gets its own page at swirl.events/venues/<slug>/. They’re useful for “what else is happening at this place” — a regular spot you go to, somewhere new you just discovered, etc.
What’s on a venue page
- Venue name and address at the top
- A link out to Google Maps for directions (opens in a new tab)
- An “N upcoming” count
- A grid of upcoming events at the venue, collapsed by series the same way the home grid does it
- An empty state if there’s nothing on the calendar
Past events aren’t currently shown on the venue page; they’re elsewhere (the host’s profile, search).
Finding a venue page
A few ways in:
- Tap the venue name under any event on the home grid or browse view.
- Tap the venue in the meta strip on an event detail page.
- The address on the event page also links to Google Maps if you want directions rather than the Swirl venue page.
Venue pages are also indexed — searching the venue name on Google often surfaces them directly.
Editing or claiming
Venues don’t have owners on Swirl. Anyone can post events at any venue, and there’s no “claim this venue” flow. If you run a venue and want its Swirl page polished — a cover image, a tagline, a website link — email events@swirl.events and we’ll set it up by hand until self-service venue management ships.
